Brief: Create a design for a pop-up street food restaurant

Deliverables: Identity design for the street food pop-up restaurant The Food Stage

Amsterdam Pop Stage de Melkweg and The Food Line-up gave Wunderwald the task to develop a complete brand experience for the temporary restaurant and street food bar The Food Stage.

For three months, a special line-up of street food chefs and guest chefs were running both the kitchen and the menu. Some chefs were there just for the day, whilst others took the kitchen over for an entire month. The chefs were preparing their street food specialities ‘live – on stage’.

The Food Stage’s identity features bold colours, a 1980s inspired set of patterns and decorative typography. The colours of the street food bar were complementary to ADE, Amsterdam Dance Event, during which The Food Stage opened its doors. The fun 80s feeling was present across all signage, menus, and collateral displays including the stickers on the windows. This put The Food Stage really in the spotlight.
